Abruzzo DOC Pecorino

Abruzzo DOC Pecorino is a white wine made from the Pecorino grape variety grown in the Abruzzo region of Italy. The Abruzzo DOC wine appellation was created to protect and enhance the main regional native vines, including Pecorino, but also Passerina, Cococciola, and Montonico. The Pecorino grape is one of Italy’s fastest-growing white varieties, and the wine is known for its fresh, fruity, and elegant aromas. While there are currently no DOC appellations for Pecorino in Abruzzo, the majority of producers bottle it as IGT wines.

Abruzzo is a region located in central Italy, on the Adriatic coast. The region is known for its rugged mountains, beautiful beaches, and rich cultural heritage. Abruzzo is also home to some of Italy’s most exciting wines, including Pecorino. The region’s unique terroir, which includes a mix of limestone, clay, and sand, gives the wines their distinctive character. The climate is Mediterranean, with hot summers and mild winters, which is ideal for growing grapes.

Abruzzo DOC Pecorino is a versatile wine that pairs well with a variety of foods. It is a perfect accompaniment to the fantastic seafood of the region, such as grilled octopus, seafood risotto, or spaghetti alle vongole. It also pairs well with white meats, such as chicken or pork, and vegetarian dishes, such as roasted vegetables or pasta with pesto. The wine’s fresh acidity and fruity aromas make it an excellent choice for summer drinking and outdoor dining
