Tascante is one of the five estates of Tasca d’Almerita family in Sicily.
We cultivate beauty on the slopes of Etna. Some places have a soul, a unique atmosphere which gives the impression of entering a magical dimension. Etna, a UNESCO world heritage site, is one of these places.
It won’t take long to realise that the land here is “alive”, and has its own language, its own rules, its own time.
Amidst an ever-changing landscape – comprised of Contrade, or districts, along the volcano’s slopes, oak and chestnut forests, dry walls made with lava stone – you’ll find an unexpected Sicily, invisible at a quick glance; this is the Sicily that reveals itself only to those who really slow down and experience it.
And it is here, at Tenuta Tascante, where you’ll find the exact synthesis of our idea of a vineyard on Europe’s highest active volcano. It was in this area between Castiglione di Sicilia and Randazzo where we began to cultivate the most well-suited grape varietals in 2007 – Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio and Carricante in the Contrade of Rampante, Pianodario, Sciaranuova and Sciaranuova Vigna Vecchia.
We are delighted to welcome you to Tenuta Tascante and share our passion for Etna.
