The Fois Farm was founded in Alghero, in the north-west of Sardinia, in the mid-1800s, cultivating its olive groves in the countryside of the Alghero area, in an ideal setting for the breeding of olive trees with a temperate climate and mitigated by the proximity of the sea.
Today the farm is managed, with dedication and passion, in the first person by the Fois family that directly follows all the stages of processing.
In 2000 it became Accademia Olearia with the production and selling of high quality extra virgin olive oil from its 230 ha of olive groves (out of which 17 ha are organic). The company managed by the Fois family operates in a modern factory of over 4 thousand square meters and uses the most advanced and innovative methods of extraction, capable of ensuring high product quality while respecting the raw material.
The factory has been built with a particular attention towards the protection of the environment. The company uses alternative energy sources, such as photovoltaic for electricity and the use of waste processing of olives, for the production of hot water and heating.
Currently, Accademia Olearia is the largest producer of Extra Virgin Olive Oil certified “Sardegna DOP” of the island and holds the production leadership of this unique Sardinian DOP.
