Alberto Serenelli is the continuator of a family tradition started in 1920 by his grandfather Alberto who started to vinify the Montepulciano grapes produced on the Varano hill, which in 1967 will be recognized as an area at the center of the DOC Rosso Cònero area.
In the 1950s, Alberto’s son Cesare took over the management of the estate and built the current wine cellar in 1957, the year in which Alberto jr. was born.
The first Rosso Cònero with the ‘Serenelli’ label is from the 1978 Vintage.
Over the years, the Alberto Serenelli winery has embraced the search for excellence, innovation, refinement of the product in respect of the family tradition and expanded production by introducing new crops of white berried grapes.
The wine production is the one of a craftsman, a wine artist, who works in the vineyard and in the cellar on a human scale, with the aim of transmitting the emotions he receives when ‘his’ wine is made.
The Alberto Serenelli winery, characterized by a very limited production in volume, expresses the love and passion for the land and wine in all its products, seeking excellence in all stages of production. The rigorously hand-picked harvests follow a strict selection of the bunches made in the vineyard, with ‘yields’ deliberately lower than what is foreseen by the production regulations. It follows a vinification with attention to detail and made with passion and care for the selection of bottles, refined and never banal, elegant labels, and cork stoppers, guaranteed one by one by the manufacturer.
