In the warm and generous Salento region, Apollonio’s sun-kissed vineyards give their sweet, must-scented fruits according to the rhythm of nature, marked by lunar cycles. In fact, it takes time for them to become unique, recognizable, unmistakable.
Apollonio wines are left to rest in barrels or bottles all the time necessary to develop their proper light, colour, taste, undertones, aromas and fragrances.
This four-generation history – always evolving yet remaining faithful to itself – began in 1870, when Noè Apollonio started his adventure, followed by his son Marcello, who would modernize the family firm during the Belle Epoque.
During the years of post-war Italy’s economic miracle, Marcello’s son, Salvatore, marked a turning point by introducing business management at the Cantine Apollonio. Today, it is the turn of Salvatore’s sons to run the company: Marcello and Massimiliano Apollonio have succeeded in exporting a label that is a byword for first-rate quality and trustworthiness all over the world.
Apollonio’s track record of success earned it the title of “Impresa Storica d’Italia” (“historic company of Italy”).
