Our Story

Marchesi Incisa della Rocchetta, A Historic Winery

This is a historic winery and B&B set in a stunning building from the 19th century. In this beautiful building, the Marchesi Incisa della Rocchetta have renovated eight rooms as well as a small cottage and these are available for guests to enjoy and discover the beautiful Monferrato area. The Monferrato area is known for its high-quality wines. The grapes grown here include Barbera, which has a deep red color and a powerful taste. These fine wines have been awarded numerous prestigious awards throughout the years.

Best Wines of Marchesi Incisa della Rocchetta

The Marchesi Incisa della Rocchetta has owned vineyards in Rocchetta Tanaro and nearby areas for centuries and the winery produces internationally acclaimed wines, typical of the region. The best known are the Barbera d’Asti Superiore Sant’Emiliano and Barbera d’Asti Valmorena, as well as the Grignolino and Pinot Noir and the blend Rollone and Colpo D’Ala. These wines are a prime illustration of the distinguished viticulture practiced in the Monferrato hills, with their unwavering focus on quality, innovation, and terroir. Each wine exhibits harmony, depth, and balance that can only be attained through years of practice, commitment, and passion.

Terroir of Piedmont

The winery has a long tradition of producing fine wines from the rich soils found in the Piedmont region. The climate is also ideal for growing grapes and producing high-quality wine due to its moderate temperatures year round with only mild variations during the winter and summer seasons. The soil in the region is mainly composed of limestone deposits that are rich in calcium, magnesium, and potassium. This allows the vineyards to produce wines with high acidity levels while exhibiting subtle flavors.
