Our Story

Cantine Sant’Agata represents the concrete expression of the wine history of the Cavallero Family, wine producers in Scurzolengo, Asti, since the early 900.

Today Franco Cavallero is the leader of this company that has always privileged the production of the most important native grape of Monferrato: Ruchè.

At Cantine Sant’Agata there has always been experimentation and promotion on this vine; in fact, the first vineyard of a hectare dates back to 1982 and today the company represents a real point of reference in the seven municipalities where it is possible to grow it. Today Ruchè is considered one of the most important and characteristic wines of Piedmont for its natural modernity.

Over the years the company has expanded its boundaries and horizons, diversifying production with other vines such as Nebbiolo and Barbera. Since 2011 the Cicchetto has been opened, a Cocktail Bar restaurant where it was possible to experiment and launch its own line of spirits, the Franco Cavallero Spiriti. This line is produced with the botanical cultivated cars that today represent one of the corporate attractions; in fact, you can visit the cultivated fields and live an experience from within the production. To complete the spirits line, in addition to the various types of Gin, the bitter Essential and the Vermouth of Torino Superiore Nonis Febrauriis are produced.
