Back in 1986 young Roberto, wise oenologist from three generations of winemakers, found a winery in which to combine respect for the land, preservation of tradition yet renewing the wine-making techniques and product quality.

Il Roncal was born: located at the heart of the Friuli Colli Orientali wine-making region of Friuli in Italy, on the Montebello Hill. Il Roncal, from the local Friulian expression, indicates an “estate on a hill cultivated in terraces”.

Following Roberto’s premature passing in 2006, his wife, Martina today runs the winery pursuing the credo of her husband, now turned into her dream, with passion and enthusiasm.
