“The name La Scolca comes from the name “Sfurca” which means viewpoint. In the past there was a farm on the land of La Scolca that served as a lookout. The name La Scolca is synonymous worldwide with Gavi, a superior dry white wine from Piedmont. In the period 1917-1919 the estate came into the possession of the Soldati family. La Scolca has 104 years of history and is still run by the same family. The wines of La Scolca are internationally acclaimed by many stars and the Gavi dei Gavi “Black Label” is even the house wine of Queen Elizabeth.”
