The family of Livio Sassetti has been producing wine in Montalcino for over three generations. The Podere Pertimali and its 16 hectares of land, 12 planted with vineyards, are located in the Montosoli hill, north of Montalcino, a particularly well-known area for the cultivation of the Sangiovese.
Today the estate is managed by Lorenzo Sassetti, Livio’s son, fourth generation family member and passionate winemaker, that is upholding the family name and reputation with the enthusiastic support of his wife Sabina.
Lorenzo has developed a distinctive style resulting in well balanced and round textured wines, recognized as some of the finest in the region and among the greatest of Montalcino. Moved by a strong interest in winemaking he decided to approach different styles acquiring two properties in Italy’s finest wine-producing areas, rising Tuscan Maremma and Valdobbiadene. All of Lorenzo’s wines have deep roots in their respective terroirs, showcasing his willingness to preserve their traditional features.
