Founded in 1852 and now run by the 7th generation, Ioppa is one of the oldest, continuously operated, family-owned wineries in the hilly territory of Northern Piedmont, a.k.a. Alto Piemonte.
Family tradition and values handed down from past to present are the essence of how this estate operates and lives by. The winery is located on a hilltop just outside the municipality of Romagnano Sesia overlooking the south west facing rolling vineyards, the Sesia river and the Monte Rosa, the second highest and most emblematic peak of the Alps. The appellations produced by the estate are Ghemme D.O.C.G. (Controlled and Guaranteed Designation of Origin) and Colline Novaresi D.O.C. (Controlled Designation of Origin), the latter being a sub appellation encompassing red and rosé wines made from authocthonous varietals.
Sustainable growth coupled with cutting-edge technology innovation is fundamental to the winery ever growing performances. With 32 hectares, the estate is totally committed to develop an eco-friendly viticulture and a natural winemaking techniques. 95% of the production is exported on foreign markets.
