Bougatsa - Greek Dessert - The Good Gourmet

For the Bougatsa Cream:
  • 1 l milk
  • 350 g semolina
  • 350 g sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1ts vanilla powder
For the Phyllo dough
  • phyllo dough
  • melted butter
  • icing sugar


1. We start with the dough. On a parchment paper, lay a piece of phyllo dough and spread some butter with a brush and sprinkle some icing sugar. Repeat this process until you have 5-6 layers of phyllo.

2. Cover with one more parchment paper and a tray on top. Bake in a preheated oven at 150°C for 20-25 min.

3. Now we continue with the Bougatsa cream. Add all the ingredients in a casserole and cook it until it thickens, stirring constantly.

4. When the cream it’s not hot anymore put some in a plate and add on top some phyllo dough. icing sugar and cinnamon.
