Tasting notes: The colour, which gives the wine its name, is precisely ruby red with violet notes. To the nose it appears straightforward with marked notes of marasca cherries, later on spicy scents and the typical notes of leather and tobacco given by Freisa can be perceived. In the mouth it is harmonious but has a good acidity, such that it can cleanse the palate even when paired with very rich foods.
Pairing: The wine goes wonderfully with white truffle risottos, full-bodied main courses and fried foods. An interesting combination with medium-long seasoned hard cheeses.
