Viognier is a white grape of the Roussanne family. It is grown mostly in France, but it can also be found in Italy and Spain. This grape is known for its fruity aroma, which can be described as fresh and floral.
Viognier is known for having a complex flavor profile with notes of lime rind and lime zest, lime juice, green apple and pear with peppermint notes.
This variety’s taste is slightly acidic with subtle honey undertones on the finish. Viogniers are great with white meats like chicken and fish, but they also pair well with red meats like beef or pork.
