Hello my dear Gourmets!
The weather is getting hot and city trips might not be the best idea right now. On the other hand, visiting a winery might be a better idea. Refreshing, in more ways than one.
Here’s a list of destinations where you can enjoy wine tasting experience, good food, and great stories about wine and wine-making:
Fratelli Serio & Battista Borgogno
Via Crosia, 12, Loc. Cannubi, 12060 Barolo CN, Italy
Even today, after 120 years of history and tradition, the winery maintains an absolutely familiar and all-female character: the fourth generation Anna and Paola Borgogno, and now the fifth generation Federica Boffa and Emanuela Bolla.
Every aspect from the vineyard to the cellar is followed entirely by Emanuela and his father Marco Bolla, with the precious help of a consolidated team, which is now an integral part of the Borgogno family.
Amelio Livio
Via Professor Innocenzo Garrone, 30, 14031 Grana AT, Italy
There are no exact dates related to the start of this activity, but for sure the “Mind” of all this was Giuseppe’s great-grandfather who, at the beginning of 1900, has built the house where the cellar is until today. Over the years Grandfather Carlo continued the work of the fields and the cultivation of the vine and has begun to produce the first bottles. In 1984, the son Livio has become the responsible of the company and he modernized it to obtain quality wines. Livio and his wife, Marisa, have always worked with great dedication and have passed their passion to their three daughters. As a result two of them, Arianna and Daniela, have joined the company now to continue the tradition of the family, in this way arrived the fourth generation.

Located among the vineyard landscapes of the Piedmont UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is also one of the “100 most beautiful villages of Italy”.
La Masera Winery
Strada San Pietro, 32, 10010 Piverone (TO), Italy
“We used to oberve our grandparents waiting all year long, fearing one of those summer storms that could destroy the whole harvest … but finally, the last sunbeams delivered those beloved, strong native bunches to the ritual grape harvest: the Erbaluce or Albaluce, as in ancient times we were used to calling them. Today, in the same way, with our project we try to replicate those ancient gestures to give new life to that wonder of taste and inner search that springs out of a Settimo Rottaro Erbaluce Passito glass …”
