Cabernet Sauvignon is a variety of wine grape native to the Bordeaux region in France. It is a robust, full-bodied red grape that has been known to age well for up to 15 years.
Cabernet Sauvignon is often used as a blending grape with other varieties of Bordeaux wine such as Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
The taste of this wine ranges from deep, dark fruit flavors to spicy notes and black pepper. The variety makes an ideal complement to rich sauces or dishes that have strong flavors such as cheese or red meat.
It pairs well with all types of food including pasta dishes, steak and chicken, and red meat dishes like pork loin chops with garlic mashed potatoes!
